They released a server side enhancements like Smooth Streaming technology for adaptive streaming with Silverlight to keep the video streams moving smoothly, and even enable DVR-like features in a live stream without requiring dedicated video servers, all so viewers can get smooth 720p throughout the event. Silverlight 3 beta, which promises support for up to 1080p resolution, native playback of MP4 formats like h.264 and hardware graphics acceleration.

Leading RIA products – Adobe’s Flash,  Microsoft’s Silverlight  and Sun JavFX are in the big challenge with the stunning features of HTML 5 … World Wide Web (W3C’s) HTML 5 having lots of features are the big challenge for leading Flash platform.

The main feature is no Plug-ins for the browser, how ever the above RIA products requires Plug-ins or Add-ons. Also it is ultimately reduces the loading time of the browser, however Flash Plug-ins and Silverlight plug-ins are taking time to load the application and also it is need to be download and install from the web.

This is the interesting and good news for us. We have Cairngorm framework for JavaFx too, it is exactly what we have it for Flex development. It is named by Cairngorm-FX. Surely it will help us to increase the productivity and time-saving. The guy from Cjtech.co.uk, developed this framework. It is available for download under MIT License.

“Strobe is an open AS3 media framework that supports the workflow around video playback and monetization. Video players have different features set. The skins are different and the integration is different as well as the architecture workflow. But they essentially do the same thing and can be created using the Strobe framework. ”

The video quality is excellent from this Strobe Media framework.  I know the complexity of creating Media Video Player through Action Script, but when I read the features of “Strobe”, I really stunned for some moment. Since it supports many more formats currently running in the market. Also the High-End support with FMS ( Flash Media Server ) and other Media Servers, is the nice feature of Strobe.

It has been solved many issues faced by the Flash Video Player Developers. This is really a good news for the developers like me. The foundation of the framework is Qos (quality of service), which focuses on OVP (Open Video Player)  and provides a quick start for playing videos (smallest buffer size needed to start the video), efficient connection logic, and switching bitrates dynamically (recall metric monitor service in OVP).

Sony Ericsson is out with a new slider phone namely the T715, which is available in two different versions: Sony Ericsson T715 (with quad-band GSM and 2100 HSPA), and Sony Ericsson T715a (with quad-band GSM and 850/1900/2100 HSPA). As for the specs itself, you’ll find a 2.2-inch QVGA display with 256K colors, a 3.2MP camera with Photo light, a new UI feature, a music player, a Stereo FM radio with RDS, Google Maps, a 90MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. Sony Ericsson T715 and T715a will hit the market starting the third quarter of 2009, in two color versions: Galaxy Silver and Rouge Pink for unannounced price yet.

Raghunath Thircovil, Flex Evangelist and Manju Kiran of Sr. Software Lead, ColdFusion from Adobe came to the Chennai ColdFusion User Group for the Adobe ColdFusion and Flash Platform Pre-launch. Since it’s a one day event we had the sessions on Preview of Adobe Flash Platform, Adobe ColdFusion at morning and hands on session on using Flash Builder and Adobe ColdFusion at afternoon. More than 50+ members from Flex and Cold Fusion community were came there to part of RIA Prelaunch. Raghu started the Event at 10:30 AM and he talked about the excellent features of Flash Builder 4 and Flash Catalyst with lots of demos. He gave some interesting demos on Flash Catalyst. This was wonderful stuff created by Adobe Flex team. I really wonder when I heard those features.

In continue with the speech of Raghu, Manju Kiran  started his experience in Cold Fusion 8 & 9 andupcoming features of it. This was the excellent features from Server Side. There were many new features which Manju explained in ColdFusion that really attracts me and all the community members. Some of the features I really admired are as follows,

• Spreadsheet Integration and manipulations, thru design and code from ColdFusion Builder, which supports  for Excel 97, 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2008.
• PowerPoint integration and manipulations, thru design and code, from Cold Fusion Builder which supports for PowerPoint 97, 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2008
• Object Relation Mapping – Internal DB creation without any otherDB.
• CFScript Enhancement -Some extra features are added in Cold Fusion script.
• IMAP access for to retrieve and manage Emails – easy access of GMail and some other mail services, which includes the manipilation like “attachments and folders, read, compose mail and forward”.
• The direct access of some ColdFusion tags as SOAP and AMF services
• ColdFusion multi-server manager - Perfect monitoring system for monitoring all the Cold Fusion Servers. Easy integration of Multiple servers at Single place.
• ColdFusion IDE Bolt features and extension for ORM Code generator and many more.

Then Raghu started his hands-on session on using Flash builder with ColdFusion and other server side technologies. During this session he asked some questions to attendees, to give a Goodies. I got answered for some questions  (single question only..  ) However I got one fashion t-shirt ( which has the Flash Builder and Flash Catalyst integration designs in the front, and some adobe flash link at the back). Thanks to Raghu for giving those goodies.

Here is the story : Berners-Lee is famed as the inventor of the World Wide Web, the system that we use to access sites, documents and files on the Internet. He has received numerous recognitions, most notably the Millennium Technology Prize.

While a student at Oxford University, Berners-Lee was caught hacking access with a friend and subsequently banned from University computers. w3.org reports, “Whilst [at Oxford], he built his first computer with a soldering iron, TTL gates, an M6800 processor and an old television.” Technological innovation seems to have run in his genes, as Berners-Lee’s parents were mathematicians who worked on the Manchester Mark1, one of the earliest electronic computers.

While working with CERN, a European nuclear research organization, Berners-Lee created a hypertext prototype system that helped researchers share and update information easily. He later realized that hypertext could be joined with the Internet. Berners-Lee recounts how he put them together: “I just had to take the hypertext idea and connect it to the TCP and DNS ideas and – ta-da! – the World Wide Web.”

Since his creation of the World Wide Web, Berners-Lee founded the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT. The W3C describes itself as “an international consortium where Member organizations, a full-time staff and the public work together to develop Web standards.” Berners-Lee’s World Wide Web idea, as well as standards from the W3C, is distributed freely with no patent or royalties due.
